Our charges
The way we are paid for our services will depend on the type of advice given. Typically, this will be:
Financial planning
Fees agreed and paid by you.
Insurance business
Fee paid by you & commission payable by the insurance provider.
Our charges fall into the following categories:
Initial charges
These are the upfront costs of building your financial planning strategy.
Ongoing charges
Once your financial plan is in place it is important to keep it under review, so it can be adapted as your circumstances change. Our ongoing services are designed to do this.
Ad hoc charges
These are one-off charges to cover costs such as the administration of new policies or research undertaken by our team.
Before we provide any advice, we will agree with you the cost of our services. We will enter into a fee agreement with you. We will also let you know where any fees are subject to VAT.

Protection Recommendation and Implementing protection policies
Commission can be payable by the provider. Subject to medical underwriting & acceptance. Any shortfall in commission can be met by paying a separate fee.
£500 minimum commission/fee for Term Life Cover (£500 commission is equivalent to £20pm premium)
£1,000 minimum commission/fee for Income Protection, Critical Illness Cover, Whole of Life, and Business Protection (£1,000 commission is equivalent to £40pm premium)
Initial charges can be paid in a number of ways:
Our initial fees are payable upon presentation of our financial planning and / or recommendation report. We will ask for a partial payment upfront on instruction to proceed with a financial planning needs and options report and a financial planning strategy report.
An overview of our financial planning fees:
Simple
For clients with straightforward requirements – i.e. those building up to retirement who require a sense check.
Example: Financial Planning Strategy for an individual or couple with £150,000 annual income and £180,000 investment & pension, with <5 policies and employer benefits to review = £1,800.
Moderate
For clients more established on their financial journey, i.e. those with some level of investments but needing support to ensure that their financial planning is on track to meet their needs and objectives.
Example: Financial Planning Strategy for an individual or couple with £250,000 annual income and £500,000 investment & pension, with <5 policies and employer benefits to review = £2,700.
Complex
For investors with more complex financial planning needs, i.e. those with multiple and complex assets / finances.
Example: Financial Planning Strategy for an individual or couple with £350,000 annual income and £700,000 investment & pension, with <5 policies and employer benefits to review = £4,000.
Your initial fee will be calculated based on a number of different considerations, including:
Income
Investable assets
Variety/complexity of holdings
Variety/complexity of recommendations
Number of clients (single client, couple, family etc.)
Estimated resource required
Before we start any work we will agree on a fixed amount or a limit above which we will contact you for further instructions based on these rates.
We charge separate fees for Investment and Protection recommendations, and Implementation, and ongoing servicing of your financial plan. Unless otherwise agreed, these services will be provided as a follow up to the initial Financial Planning service.

Annual suitability and planning
Ongoing reviews specifically agreed with you to review the progress made and ensure your plan remains on track.
Percentage of funds under advice:
Balances up to £500,000 @ 1.00%
£500,001 – £1,000,000 @ 0.50%
£1,000,001 plus @ 0.25%
Ongoing fees can be paid in a number of ways:
Our charges for ongoing services will start on confirmation of subscription to an ongoing care and advice package.
Ongoing services can be cancelled at any time by informing us in writing but please note that we do reserve the right to charge you for services we have provided before cancellation.
If you do not have investment and pension funds, we can calculate a separate ongoing fee for maintaining and reviewing your initial financial planning strategy.
An overview of our fees for ongoing servicing:
Simple
For clients with straightforward requirements – i.e. those building up to retirement and winding down through retirement.
Example: £150,000 annual income and £180,000 investment & pension = £150 per month (£1,800 per year)
Moderate
For clients more established on their financial journey, i.e. those with some level of investments but needing support to ensure that their financial planning is on track to meet their needs and objectives.
Example: £250,000 annual income and £500,000 investments and pensions = £417 per month (£5,000 per year)
Complex
For investors with more complex financial planning needs, i.e. those with multiple and complex assets.
Example: £350,000 annual income and £1,000,000 investments and pensions = £625 per month (£7,500 per year)
Family Office
For sophisticated affairs with multiple assets, where clients need help with all aspects of their personal and business finances.
From £25,000 per year.
Your Ongoing Planning Service will be calculated based on a number of different considerations, including:
Income
Investable assets
Variety/complexity of holdings
Variety/complexity of recommendations
Number of clients (single client, couple, family etc.)
Estimated resource required
Hourly rates
Additional work outside the scope of the above will be charged at an hourly rate as follows:
Technical work and advice £250 per hour
Paraplanner (skilled researcher and report writer) £180 per hour
Administration £100 per hour
Examples of what you might pay
A typical pension analysis can take 12 hours of work:
4 hours of Administration = £400
4 hours of para-planning = £720
4 hours of technical work & advice = £1,000
Total = £2,120
For non-advised services, if commission is available to us, you can choose to pay us by allowing us to keep the commission, or by paying us an adviser charge instead. If you choose to pay via commission, we will tell you how much we are paid.
We will agree together which tier suits you best before we start any work.
Other charges
Depending on the services we provide, there may be costs and charges (including taxes) not charged by us but related to the financial products we arrange for you. These charges may be one-off charges (payable up front) or charges payable on an ongoing basis. For example:
Service costs: If your investments are held on a platform (an online investment administration service) or held with a fund manager, the platform provider will make a charge for administering your investments.
Investment costs: These are the costs relating to the manufacturing and managing of your investments, e.g. fees charged by the investment fund manager, costs relating to investment transactions.
We may charge one-off administration fees (payable up front or taken from the investment) when setting up new policies. This will be to cover the administration of such policies and any research undertaken by our team.
We will always disclose any third-party costs and/or any administration fees as part of making our recommendations and before commencing with any work.
We will review our fees annually and reserve the right to increase our fees. You will be given notice of any changes and the opportunity to decide whether to continue with the revised level of charges.
We don’t tie our clients down with long term contracts, you can opt out of our service at any time.
