Neil is a Chartered Financial Planner and Director of Mission Financial Planning. He has nearly 20 years’ experience in the financial services profession, having previously worked as an IFA for a major bank and a large financial advisory firm in the North East.
Working primarily with professionals, Neil is passionate about helping people on their journey in life, all the way through to the end goal – a happy retirement. By providing a personalised, one-to-one service that focuses on his clients, their families and their aspirations, he aims to set them on the path to a bright and secure financial future.
Neil loves spending time with his wife and kids, whether it’s walking their dog, cycling or having adventures at farms and play parks. The family lives in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, a great location that allows them to easily get into town, up the coast and into the countryside.
Neil enjoys keeping fit and being decidedly average at lots of sports, including running, cycling and golf. Having dabbled in surfing and kayaking, they are next on the list! He’s now retired from playing football but still takes an interest in the Toon.

Doing anything with my wife and kids, but mostly all eating ice cream after getting some good exercise!
Favourite holiday destination?
Bamburgh, but don’t tell anyone – let’s keep it a secret…

And for dessert?
Warm chocolate fudge cake and ice cream.
The best gift I ever received?
My girls rented a 1972 VW Devon Moonraker camper van called Charlotte for a weekend in the Yorkshire Dales for us for my 40th. Love them and loved it!

Becoming Chartered and then a Fellow of the PFS - but also generally after I see clients’ reactions to our process and clever financial planning.

What does “Fellow of the PFS” mean?
Neil is a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society (PFS), having successfully completed their Fellowship programme. This is the highest designation offered by the PFS and has only been achieved by a select number of financial planners.

He was keen to understand what financial decisions meant to us, looking at how financial planning can support what is most important to us. Neil is an excellent choice if you are looking for financial advice, and in particular in our case m, planning for our personal, and family, financial futures. Neil is diligent, extremely thorough and knowledgeable about a pretty complex world of investments - we really needed a guiding hand to be a bit smarter with our finances and Mission Financial planning have been ideal in coming up with a strategy suitable to our situation and needs. Neil really took time to understand my situation and goals for the future/ retirement plans. He helped me put in place a pension and an ISA that reflects this and gives me an idea what I need to work towards. He also arranged mortgage protection for my family, which gives us good security.
