Where are meetings held?
We’re all about embracing technology here at Mission, so meetings are typically held on Teams, Zoom or FaceTime. This saves us all valuable time to concentrate on what’s important and have a great conversation. It also allows us to extend our reach to friends and referrals outside of the North East of England.
Do I have to pay for an initial meeting?
We cover the cost of an initial Discovery Meeting of up to 40 minutes. The purpose of this is to see if we are going to be a good fit and get sufficient information to provide you with an initial proposal.
What do I need to have with me for an initial meeting?
We spend this time to start getting to know you, establishing your goals, what is important to you and what you want to achieve and why. We need to get a good picture of where you are now and where you want to be. We answer questions that we can at this stage. Having details of existing pensions, investments and protection plans will be helpful.
How long should I allow for an initial meeting?
Up to 40 minutes.
Do I have to sign up to your services at an initial meeting?
No. After the initial meeting, we both go away to consider our discussion. If we feel we can add value to you and your financial planning, we then provide a personalised proposal for you to consider if you want to proceed with us.
How can I book an initial meeting?
Just complete our online contact form and we’ll send you a link to arrange a video call at a mutually convenient time.
Are you independent?
Yes. We feel that operating on a non-restricted basis helps us give the best, most tailored advice.
Are you regulated?
Yes, we are directly authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Can you advise on final salary/defined benefit transfers?
While Neil is qualified to advise in this area, we don’t currently offer this service. However, we will be more than happy to refer you to a trusted professional who can help.
What happens if my Financial Planner is away on holiday?
Our flexible working approach means we’re able to pick up and reply to messages and calls, no matter where we are.
What do you charge for a financial plan?
A comprehensive Mission Financial Plan costs £1,500, however this can vary depending on complexity. Sometimes we need an initial discussion to be able to calculate costs, which are presented as part of our proposal after an initial Discovery Meeting. Please see more information on our fees page.
Do you take a percentage of the investment / pension portfolio, or are your fees fixed for this service?
We charge fixed fees for initial work completed and a percentage of funds under advice for ongoing services.
Do you get commission?
We can receive commission for placing business with protection providers for life, critical illness and income protection insurances. This is after rigorous research to find the best provider for you.
Does my partner need to be at the meeting if they don’t handle the family finances?
That’s exactly why your partner needs to be there. If anything happens to you, they need to have absolute confidence in us and our ability to handle things.
What changes have you made due to the coronavirus pandemic?
With our preference for video calls over face-to-face meetings, we can help ensure the safety of our clients throughout the process.
